Merry Christmas Everyone! (Although this is being posted on December 27th)
Christmas is a lovely time. Presents, parties and food. What could be better?
This year around the festive period, i spent a while going back and forth to hospital. Nothing to do with me, of course, however my nephew, Dylan, has been rather poorly. Whiston Hospital was struck with a pneumonia epidemic, and the poor little boy was caught in among the frenzy.
This little dude has made me realise the true meaning of Christmas, as cheesy and Cindy-Lou-like that i sound. Dylan is two. He began Christmas day on oxygen, with two little pipes stuck up his nose. Five days prior he'd been the same. However, his little spirits stayed high.
Although being prodded and poked every ten minutes by nurses and doctors, he kept a smile on his face. Playing with Thomas the Tank Engine and Peppa Pig on his little hospital bed, he made my Christmas. His little chuckles and grins as he played so happily. I honestly couldn't ask for any more this Christmas.
As if a Christmas miracle, by the second time we visited on Christmas day, bringing roasts at the ready, Dylan's oxygen had been removed. he was breathing properly and could finally get out of bed. Hopefully my little dude will be able to come home in the next day or so.
I went hope that day with a smile on my face and my hope restored. Christmas isn't about gifts and parties and food. It's about family, making people happy and having that bit of hope in your heart for a brighter day.
This post is possibly going to make people cringe, but i just thought I'd share it with you all:)
Merry Christmas, guys, and make the remainder of 2014 count!
